Dana Blalock, DDS

Meet Dr. Blalock

Dr. Blalock grew up in Independence, Missouri. In 1981, she graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. She went on to the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry and fulfilled her childhood ambition of becoming a dentist. Dr. Blalock graduated in 1985 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After passing her dental boards, she was sworn in as a dental officer in the United States Navy. After eight successful years, she resigned her Naval commission and began a private dental practice. Since that time, she has furthered her dental education. Dr. Blalock has completed more than five times the amount of continuing education hours required by the state of South Carolina. She became the first dentist in SC to be certified in providing the DNA Appliance to her patients. In addition to being a member of the American Dental Association, Dr. Blalock is also a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, a Diplomate to the Board of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy, the International Academy of Sleep and Dental Sleep Masters. She is offering this very important service to her patients with snoring and sleep apnea problems, and has started  Sleep Better South Carolina in addition to her dental practice, Daniel Island Dentistry

Dr. Blalock is married to a Charleston native, and has a 20 year old son, two yellow Labrador Retrievers, and an apricot Australian Labradoodle. In her spare time, she enjoys singing with the Lowcountry Voices, kayaking, biking and cooking, and also working her Rodan and Fields skincare business.

Terrie has several years experience with Medical Billing and working with area Pulmonologists , Sleep Labs, and Durable Medical Equipment specialists. She will be able to maximize your medical insurance benefits, and answer any questions that you may have.


Kellie and Dr. Blalock have worked together for over 10 years. She brings her dental expertise to assist all patients with their oral appliance therapy.
